Trump's Day 1 oozed negativity, cruelty, and hate
It was the cruelest and most dangerous launch of any Presidential administration ever
Day one is in the history books. It was the cruelest and most dangerous launch of any Presidential administration ever. And it was just plain bad for America.
Trump’s Executive orders make it clear he stands with his corporate billionaire friends and not with us.
He ordered cuts and changes that will raise drug prices and allow the wealthiest to avoid paying taxes.
He ordered an end to protections against dumpling pollutants in communities that cannot afford their own lawyers to fight for themselves.
He promised to go to Mars- which really is a promise to purchase billions of dollars of services from the space companies owned by Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.
The biggest promise he kept was the most damaging to the rule of law. He pardoned or commuted the sentences of every insurrectionist who was convicted of January 6th crimes. He freed men who beat and tazed and bear-sprayed members of the Capitol Police. He freed men unanimously convicted by juries for seditious conspiracy. Lead by members of the Proud Boys, the mobs promptly marched through the D.C. chanting, “Whose streets? Our streets.”
Um. no. Those streets belong to all of us. And America is not about to turn them over to armed thugs, even if the President of the United States wants a private and lawless army.

The Executive Orders collectively oozed negativity, cruelty, and hate. There was not one uplifting order amongst them. Instead, there were orders to kill, orders to ignore, orders to impose, orders to lie. Orders that will take away our rights. Orders that will raise prices for everyone. Orders that will make a few billionaires even richer.
If he had given an honest inauguration speech it would have been the shortest ever. “Ha, ha, America, the joke’s on you.”
But he isn’t capable of honest speaking. So let’s pay attention not to his words but his deeds. Here are just a few examples.
On day one, Mr. Trump betrayed America’s voters and made America weaker. It is a very bad, very, very bad start.
