The CDC has an impressive strategic framework that guides its work. For now, you can read about it here. The framework has four goals:
Stop health threats at their source before they spread to the United States and other countries
Contain disruptive global disease outbreaks
Use global data for disease prevention and mitigation programs in the United States and other countries
Save lives and improve health globally
The framework lays out what work needs to be done to accomplish those goals and the capabilities they have to do the work.
Needless to say, Mr. Trump’s selection of Robert Kennedy and other ill qualified quacks hints at a different set of goals and measures. Here, based on what’s been reported about Kennedy, is a likely revision:
