Here's what Trump & his team broke this week
Trump, Hegseth, Bondi, Gabbard, Rubio and Noem are making us all less safe
The King and his jesters are having a time, aren’t they?
In their debauched revels, drunk with executive power unchecked by the MAGA Congress and emboldened by the Supreme Court, they keep breaking things.
Important things.
This week they broke our national security. The Secretary of Defense, Mr. Hegseth recklessly shared information about an upcoming military attack on an unsecured social media app. The facts are now clear: Hegseth put our pilots in jeopardy — potentially alerting Houthi anti-aircraft systems to our incoming jets. No one in the Pentagon and no one in uniform will (or should) ever trust him again.
He should have been fired immediately. A criminal investigation should have been opened.
Instead, Donald Trump and his team lied about it.
Our pilots’ lives were jeopardized because a group of men wanted to act like fan boys enjoying a demonstration of American power. One of them was actually in the Kremlin visiting Putin at the time of the texts. And they think that group chat was secure?
Please. They were never serious people. They are cos-playing at grown-up stuff and failing every day.
We now have a Secretary of Defense no soldier will trust.
They want to change the subject away from this enormous failure. They tell us what really matters is that the mission was a success. Really? What was the mission? Because the Red Sea is still not open to shipping and the Houthis are still in charge. That doesn’t sound like a mission accomplished to anyone. We spent tens of millions of dollars, risked American lives, broke our national security, and gained nothing.

This week, these jesters and their mad king also broke our national intelligence. Tulsi Gabbard, the head of national intelligence, gave sworn testimony that was so stupid no-one in the intelligence services will ever trust her. Under oath, first she said nothing was classified. Then when someone else said, well, maybe some was defense classified, she said, she um yes, what he said. What?
This disastrous foray into expensive, unfocused, and ultimately failed military chest thumping also burned an asset on the ground. We know that because the Israeli government complained. It was their asset. So much for allies ever sharing information with us again.
We aren’t safer because of any of this. These reckless fools are just breaking stuff. Stuff we need. This week it was the trust of our military, and the credibility of our national security apparatus.
But they were just getting warmed up with their costly mistakes.
Attorney General Pam Bondi, she of the we will no longer weaponize the law promise, flatly refused to open an investigation, opting to use our federal investigative resources to track down protestors at Tesla dealerships.
This is her version of law and order. But a jester like her can’t compete with the folly of the king. He was busy in his privy chambers writing one Executive Order after the next targeting individual American businesses that he doesn’t like. Last week, he targeted universities. This week he aimed at law firms. All of it is illegal, but since Bondi won’t enforce the law, there isn’t much recourse. Some firms caved. Some are fighting in court. But it’s all costly.
That’s how it is with kings. They alone are the law. And so, the rule of law is broken.
And if you can imagine it, if you have the courage to look at the horror on display, you will see they weren’t done. They broke medicine. The broke public health. They want to turn the Museum of African American history into a museum that cannot mention race because they want to break history as well. But because there is no bottom they can’t get below, these horrible people went further.
For that we turn to the jester named Kristi Noem.
You remember her. She’s the one with the MAGA makeover who shot her dog and bragged about it. That so attracted Donald Trump, he put her in charge of homeland security.
This week she used taxpayer money to fly to El Salvador and cut a video. I don’t know if you’ve seen it. If you haven’t . . . spare yourself. At first, I thought maybe she did it because the King needed someone else to star in a video that was even more disgusting than his own- the one where he attacked Zelenskyy in the Oval Office. But that’s not right. The real reason is that this is who they are, and who they need us to be.
The video shows her posing in front of an overcrowded prison cell in infamous foreign jail where she and Marco Rubio are locking up people they sweep off our streets without any due process. She and the King tell us these men are dangerous gang members, that we are safer because they are off our streets. Maybe some of them are gang members. Maybe some of them aren’t. We don’t know and she doesn’t care. So long as she can pose while desperate men are forced to watch from their cages, she’s happy. And so is the King.
They didn’t just break our national security, and our national intelligence. They didn’t just wreck our public health systems, and our standing in the world. What Kristi Noem showed us is that they want to break our soul, our sense of decency, what’s left of our humanity.
They know that so long as we remain a decent people, so long as we remain a faithful people, so long as love more than we hate, they will fail. So, they are coming for our souls.
They are not getting mine, and I pray they do not get yours.
Nothing is more important to each of us, to our families, to our nation, and to the world than getting rid of these terrible people at the first opportunity.
